How to Apply for a Duplicate PAN Card Onlin

Posted: 6 months ago

Complete Process 2025

A Permanent Account Number (PAN) is an essential identification document for all taxpayers and individuals conducting financial transactions in India. If your PAN card is lost, stolen, damaged, or misplaced, don’t worry—applying for a duplicate PAN card online is now easier than ever. In this blog, we’ll walk you through the complete online process to apply for a duplicate PAN card in 2025, including fees, documents required, and official websites.

✅ When Do You Need a Duplicate PAN Card?

You should apply for a duplicate PAN card if:

  • Your PAN card is lost or stolen

  • It is damaged, torn, or unreadable

  • You want a reprint of the PAN card without changing any details

💡 Note: If you want to change or update any details like name, date of birth, or address, you must apply for a “correction” instead.

🖥️ Platforms to Apply Online for Duplicate PAN

You can apply for a duplicate PAN card through either of the two official portals:

  1. NSDL (Protean eGov Technologies)https://www.tin-nsdl.com

  2. UTIITSL (UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited) – https://www.pan.utiitsl.com

Both portals are government-authorized and offer similar services.

📋 Step-by-Step Process to Apply via NSDL Portal (2025)

Step 1: Visit the NSDL PAN portal
Go to https://www.tin-nsdl.com and click on “Apply for Change/Correction in PAN Data” under PAN section.

Step 2: Select Application Type
Choose:

  • “Reprint of PAN card” (No changes in data)
    Application type: Individual

Step 3: Fill the Online Form
Provide the following details:

  • PAN number

  • Full name, date of birth

  • Contact information

  • Aadhaar number (optional but recommended)

Step 4: Choose Paperless e-KYC Option
Opt for Aadhaar-based e-KYC for faster processing and avoid sending physical documents.

Step 5: Upload Documents
If not choosing e-KYC, upload scanned copies of:

  • PAN card (if available)

  • Identity proof (e.g., Aadhaar, Passport)

  • Address proof

  • Passport-size photograph

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

  • ₹50 (within India)

  • ₹959 (for foreign addresses)
Payment methods: Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI

Step 7: Submit & Download Acknowledgment
After submission, you’ll receive a 15-digit acknowledgment number. Keep it safe to track your application status.

📦 Delivery of Duplicate PAN Card

  • You’ll receive the physical card within 10–15 working days via registered post.

  • e-PAN is usually sent to your registered email within 48 hours.

🔄 Process via UTIITSL Portal

If you prefer UTIITSL:

  1. Visit https://www.pan.utiitsl.com

  2. Click on “Apply for duplicate PAN card”

  3. Fill out the online form with your PAN and personal details

  4. Upload documents or opt for e-KYC

  5. Pay fees online and submit

  6. Track status using the application number

📝 Important Tips

  • Ensure your Aadhaar details match PAN details for e-KYC.

  • Always check your PAN status on the portal after applying.

  • Do not apply for a new PAN if you already have one—it is illegal to hold multiple PAN cards.
